Product Description


Pressure vessel and boiler quality steel are commonly found throughout the oil industry (including inshore and offshore), the petrochemical industry and the gas production industry. In recognition of the increasing need for pressure vessel steel plate to demonstrate HIC Resistant properties. Our product is also particularly suited for pressure equipment where wet H2S corrosion can be a problem.
Pressure vessel steel plate covers a range of steel grades that are designed for use in pressure vessel, boilers, heat exchangers and any other vessel that contains a gas or liquid at high pressures.
Familiar examples include gas cylinders for cooking and for welding, oxygen cylinders for diving and many of the large metallic tanks that you see in an oil refinery or chemical plant.
There is a huge range of different chemicals and liquid that that stored and processed under pressure. These range from relatively benign substances such as milk and palm oil to crude oil and natural gas and their distillates to highly lethal acids and chemicals such as methyl isocyanate. So of these processes need the gas or liquid to be very hot, whilst others contain it at very low temperatures. As a result there is a wide variety of different pressure vessel steel grades that meet the different use cases.
In general these can be divided into three groups. There is a group of carbon steel pressure vessel grades. These are standard steels and can cope with many applications where there is low corrosion and low heat. As heat and corrosion have more effect on the steel plates chromium, molybdenum and nickel are added to provide additional resistance.
The manufacture of pressure vessels is tightly regulated as a result of the risks involved and as a consequence the materials that can be used in vessels is also tightly specified. The most common specifications for pressure vessel steels are the EN10028 standards - which are European in origin - and the the ASME/ASTM standards which are from the US.
Our strength is in the very high specification pressure vessel steel plate used in the oil and gas industry and specifically in steel plate resistant to Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC).

ASME SA516 grade introduction:
SA516 grade 55, SA516 grade 60, SA516 grade 65, SA516 grade 70. These 4 grades are mainly defined by their different tensile and yield strength range, which is influenced by content of Carbon. For example sa 516 grade 70 has the highest tensile and yield strength range due to the highest Carbon content(up to0.28%). For higher grade like sa516 gr-70 steel plate, preheating might be needed for metal arc welding process, especially with thick steel plate.
Test&Inspection for ASME A516 Steel Plate
Delivery State:
SA516-70n refers to normalized steel plate product, for steel plate and sheet thinner than 40mm we normally supply them as rolled-steel coil. Plates with thickness above 40mm are supplied normalized. SA516 grade 70 steel plate density is 0.284 cu/in3 (7861 kg/m3).
Mild test:
ASME SA 516-carbon steel plates are manufactured with mill certification following EN10204 3.1 or EN10204 3.2 standard version.
Inspection: MOODY SGS BV GL DNV ABS LIOYD'S Test: X-ray, UT, magnetic particle, inspection.

16Mo3 is a EN10028 specified pressure vessel grade chrome molybdenum steel alloy for use in elevated working temperatures.
The material is used as a weldable steel in the fabrication of industrial boilers and steel pressurised vessels found in the oil, gas and chemical industry. Due to the materials chrome and molybdenum content, 16Mo3 has excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistant characteristics.

Different kinds of processing
We can cut the large steel plates by your requirements, but to the width and length your demand; We can make the surface of the cut steel plate to be bright by milling and grinding, also can make holes and make angle   degrees , a nd can weld by your drawing.
For the thickness under 30mm, we mainly cut by laser cutting; For thickness over 30mm, use OXY-cut, flame cutting.
For the thickness 200mm steel plate, because during the flame cutting, the temperature is very high; So the cutting parts steel plate might be broken at the angle part, then our workers will repair the angles to be good condition.
